The goal of the Katz Career Management Center is to prepare our students to launch their post-master’s degree career in the right job at the right company. The Katz Career Management Center partners with the academic advising team to provide holistic academic and career advice to ensure that you are prepared to add value to your employer on day one.

The three pillars of Career Management are to provide students with:

Career Advice

  • Career advising resources to put students on the right path based on their strengths and realistic professional objectives

Professional Development – Job Seeker Skills

  • Assurance that students develop business sophistication and appropriate communication, that are critical in today's job market

Employer Engagement

  • Connections with employers that fit with students' professional objectives and the employers' needs

Working with the Career Management Center

Whether you are seeking a traditional role or are a budding entrepreneur, the Career Management team looks forward to partnering with you. The timeline for engaging with the Career Management Center will vary depending upon the program in which you are enrolled. Some tasks you should complete in working with the Career Management Center include:

  • Review your résumé and complete your Personal Brand Statement prior to matriculation
  • Attend a required meeting with assigned academic and career advisors who will work with you to develop a curriculum and job search plan
  • Full-Time MBA students are required to complete CareerLeader and baseline InterviewStream interview
  • Schedule meetings with your academic and career advisors, as well as the Executives-in-Residence to ask for career assistance
  • Visit the Career Management Center offices for a quick question. These meeting should last approximately 5-10 minutes. Please make an appointment for major topics
  • Participate in experience-based professional development
  • Read the bi-weekly Katz News Network which features career related events and updates, along with other happenings at Katz
  • Continually check Career Connection for on-campus recruiting events and job postings
  • Participate in career fairs. The Career Management team will accompany students to many of the national events and facilitate networking with employers
  • Keep your advisors up-to-date on significant happenings with your job search
